Who can become a member?
· Membership
is open to both men and women in the local community.
To better
understand our purpose, we encourage prospective members to attend two meetings
prior to submitting an application for membership.
You will be our guest for one dinner meeting.
When are the club’s
meetings?
· Dinner
Meetings, with a speaker, are on the first Tuesday of each month. These meetings are at the Water Street
Landing restaurant, at 115 South Water Street in Lewiston.
Each member is responsible for his/her own
menu selections.
·
Membership
meetings, during which most of the business of the club is conducted, are held
on the third Tuesday of each month in Rivershore, Inc.’s board room at 765
Cayuga Street in Lewiston.
·
Committee
Meetings are scheduled to accommodate the participants’ availability.
Are members required to
attend all meetings?
·
Your ideas and
input are appreciated, so attendance at a minimum of three meetings during the
Lions year is expected. These can be
dinner, membership or committee meetings.
·
Many hands
make the job easier, and more fun, so your participation in club projects is
strongly encouraged.
How much does membership
cost?
·
There is a
one-time initiation fee of $25 per person that goes to the Lions Club
International.
·
Annual dues
are $75 for an individual and $125 for a couple. The Lions Club year runs from July 1 through June 30, and the
first year’s dues are prorated to reflect when the applicant joins.
Are there any additional
fees?
·
Each member
is responsible for the cost of his/her own restaurant check at Dinner Meetings.
·
The club’s
Tail Twister may collect fines of 25 cents at Dinner Meetings for actual or
imaginary rule transgressions. This is meant in good fun, and no member may be
fined more than two dollars during any one meeting.
·
Raffle
tickets are sold and prizes are redeemed at most Dinner Meetings. Purchase is
not required.
